What is a Synthesis Chapter?
How to start up a Chapter? |
|
In most high schools and colleges, students must work with a staff or faculty advisor to create Synthesis as a student organization in their school or campus. The student government or School Board then requires the group of students to state their reason and goals in establishing Synthesis as a student organization. When Synthesis collective is officially recognized by the school then they are usually awarded a monetary budget for events and can start to publicize Synthesis to other teachers & students.
To start a Synthesis chapter, please contact us at: synthesisrising@gmail.com
We will send you the materials you will need to start a collective at your school including a sample of the Synthesis Constitution and a guide to available. Also when you create and coordinate a chapter of Synthesis you will be invited to Synthesis Field Trips including attending events at the United Nations and conferences.
Presently there are Synthesis chapters at:
-SUNY Ulster in Stone Ridge, NY
-SUNY New Paltz in New Paltz, NY
-Rondout Valley High School in Accord, NY

“Synthesis allowed me to find my power as a leader, my voice
as an activist and it continues to stay with me in my current
position as a Field Organizer for the NYCLU (New York Civil
Liberties Union). Synthesis is a powerful force and I am so
happy to have been a part of the movement.”
