Empower ourselves and each other to make a difference in our local and global communities.
Think integrally about knowledge and information about the interconnectedness and interdependence of natural and human systems.
Learn the history of our world, country, cultures and peoples, in order to understand the present state of the world we live in.
Organize and coordinate local collectives in middle schools, high schools, colleges and communities.
Build and sustain a united regional, national and international network of youth and student organizations to work together for environmental, social and cultural change.
Engage individual and community creativity through various cultural events and independent media projects.
Serve the community and connect traditionally separated groups of society through volunteer work and events.
Participate in events and conferences at the United Nations and make recommendations to this organization on behalf of ourselves and our generation.
Initiate community forums in order to invent sustainable, innovative solutions and strategies to transform destructive living patterns.
Be responsible American citizens who are informed and participating in our democracy on all levels - local, regional, state, and national.
Discover and develop our leadership abilities and personal gifts.
Live in harmony with the natural world through exploring the fragile connection between humans and the earth by learning wilderness survival skills and sustainable farming.
Learn from the practices of indigenous cultures and the studies of environmental science in order to create an integral ecological vision for our future.

"Synthesis was an exhilarating introduction to campus
activism. It is a forum to talk about and create change in
personal, social, political, and spiritual realms. The members
of Synthesis have helped me to develop an appreciation and
awareness of myself and surroundings. I made many friends
in Synthesis who I still hold dear. Although the members of
Synthesis have changed, its idealistic spirit remains." - Ella Kondrat, SUNY New Paltz 2008 |
